England 1000th test match against India

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has sent its congrats to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as their men's group gets ready for their 1000th Test coordinate, which starts at Edgbaston in Birmingham against India on Wednesday, 1 August. 

Out of the 999 men's Tests to date since their presentation Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in March 1877, England have won 357 Tests and lost 297 Tests with 345 consummation in draws. At the Edgbaston alone, the setting of the 1000th Test, England have played 50 Tests to date since their first Test in May 1902 against Australia, winning 27, losing eight with 15 finishing off with draws. 

ICC Chairman Mr Shashank Manohar stated: "in the interest of the cricket family, I need to praise England on their 1000th men's Test coordinate, the principal nation to achieve this point of reference. 

"I want England to enjoy all that life has to offer in this noteworthy match and may it keep on producing players and exhibitions that move the accompanying of Test cricket, the most established and most requesting arrangement of the amusement." 

To honor the event, Jeff Crowe, previous New Zealand commander and individual from the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees, for the benefit of the ICC, will show a silver plaque to England and Wales Cricket Board Chairman Mr Colin Graves before the beginning of the Test. 

Britain have ruled India since their first Test in June 1932, winning 43 and losing 25 out of a sum of 117 Tests. On home turf, England have won 30 Tests and India have developed champs on six events with 21 Tests finishing off with draws. 

Edgbaston has facilitated six Tests between the two sides, with England driving 5-0 on a straight on.

Out of the 999 men's Tests, England have won 357 Tests and lost 297 Tests with 345 closure in draws.
